Pendennis Castle (Cornwall) - Is a mighty fortress built by Henry VIII to defend against invasion, it is located near Falmouth in Cornwall. It is an artillery fort constructed between 1540 and 1542 and we can enjoy unmissable views and travel back to wartime Cornwall.

It formed part of the King's Device programme to protect against invasion from France and the Holy Roman Empire, and defended the Carrick Roads waterway at the mouth of the River Fal

The Castle was fortified again before the Civil War and Charles II stayed there before sailing to the Isles of Scilly. Following that, it then endured 5 months of siege before becoming the penultimate Royal garrison on the British mainland to surrender.

The castle has a couple of shops to buy gifts and souvenirs and also has a food and drink restaurant for anyone wanting a bite to eat..

"A castle can never be a home because home is born out of love not of fear"
